Dr Stefan Nörtemann holds a degree in mathematics and is a qualified actuary (DAV) as well as a Certified Actuarial Data Scientist (DAV). Following a career as a consultant in the field of occupational pensions, he has been with msg life (formerly FJA) since 2002, where he drives forward initiatives in the fields of AI and data science.

In addition to his work at msg life, he is involved in various institutions as a lecturer on actuarial topics: he is head of the Actuarial Data Science (ADS) specialist group of the German Actuarial Association (DAV) and deputy chair of the DAV ADS committee. He also chairs the DAV working groups on ‘Qualification’, “AI Act” and “Fit4AI”.

At the German Actuarial Academy (DAA), he is a lecturer in the specialist module “Actuarial Data Science” and in the foundation module “Data Science & AI”.

He is also a university lecturer on the “Data Science” Master’s programme at Harz University of Applied Sciences (Wernigerode Campus).
